A wise man once said, best travel experiences spring up when you know a local. Or partly local. And I agree. Not that exploring a place by yourself is any less of an adventure, quite the opposite. Our good friend Poonie moved to Hong Kong few years ago and by the end of our tour de Taiwan we stayed with her for a few days to catch up. Borrowing her words, the eagles have landed. Our stay was pretty much full of laughter as one could expect and the highlight turned out to be, what’s more Asian than selfie stick. We were in Hong Kong in 2008 and covered pretty much everything in the main island, you could say. This time our call was more social and we visited among others the most popular dim sum place in HK; Lamma Island, possibly Hong Kong’s Hamptons; and a local dessert heaven where ordering a dessert is like filling in a lottery ticket. Apparently, a combination of selfie stick and a mouth full of dessert is no good.
I leave the twaddling brief this time and let the pictures do the talking. Don’t be taken aback by all the selfie pics, I mean it was our first time playing with that thing. Thanks to Poonie for those lovely selfie pics partly used in this post, and thanks for hosting us again.
That was our end of 2015 regarding traveling. Next to come is lot of Europe. Stay tuned.
P.S One of her selfie sticks came to Finland with us and boy did we have fun with that taking pictures on New Year’s eve with my friends. Probably won’t share those pictures though. 😛
Ensi kertaan!
